EURO-DOLLAR: Trump's comments saw EUR/USD hit a fresh session high of $1.1678 on
Thursday, after the cross had been pressured by the stronger USD in the early
part of the session. EUR/USD last trades back at ~$1.1640.
- The lack of follow through on the break of $1.1589 is less than ideal for
bears with the Bollinger base noted at $1.1564 remaining the key concern. Bears
now need a close below the weekly bull channel base off the 2017 low ($1.1562).
Bulls need a close above hourly resistance from July 09 ($1.1765) to confirm
traction above the 55-DMA ($1.1710) and ease bearish pressure.
- The EZ docket looks thin during the remainder of this week, with focus on next
week's ECB MonPol decision & the flash July PMI readings from across the region.
