The Danish and German TSOs Energinet and 50Hertz are calling for legislative clarification to move ahead with the Bornholm Energy Island project, it said.

  • Bornholm Energy Island will deliver a minimum of 3GW of renewable power from offshore wind farms.
  • To move ahead with signing contracts for converter stations, transformers and other high-voltage components, legislative clarification is needed, the TSOs said.
  • The project will receive €645mn in support from the European Commission.
