  • Senate Majority Leader McConnell blocked a motion filed by Democratic lawmakers to approve a boost to stimulus checks unanimously, despite pressure from U.S. President Trump to swiftly pass the bill. McConnell also objected Senator Bernie Sanders' motion to vote on the checks immediately after the vote on overriding Trump's veto of a defence bill. Finally, McConnell suggested that he could package the checks bill with liability protections for tech companies & an investigation into election-related matters.
