IRAN

Speaking to the BBC, UK Foreign Office minister James Cleverly states that the western signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA, the Iran nuclear deal) and the US cannot allow Iranian non-compliance with the deal.

  • Comes after yesterday's E3+1 meeting of foreign ministers of France, Germany, the UK and the US to discuss the deal, after which the US agreed to attend talks with Iranian officials at the invitation of the EU.

  • Iran, for its part, has said it would only come back into compliance once US sanctions were lifted.
