OIL

Ukraine fired at least 25 drones and seven missiles across Russia, the Russian defense ministry said, with one drone hitting one Russian oil refinery according to reports.

  • A drone attack was reported in the Kstovo industrial zone. "In the morning, the Kstovo industrial zone, a fuel and energy complex facility, was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles. Now the special services are working on the spot, using all the necessary forces and means to localize the fire at one of the oil processing plants," Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, said on Telegram.
  • The RIA cited Russian Railways and reported that a special train that puts out fires was battling a blaze on the territory of Lukoil's refinery in Kstovo.
  • The refinery remained unnamed, but a Russian Telegram channel said one CDU at Lukoil's 340kbpd NORSI refinery had been damaged and was on fire. A catalytic cracking unit at the plant was halted in January.
  • The Baza Telegram channel said Lukoil's Nizhny Novgorod refinery had been hit and showed pictures of a plume of black smoke rising into the air and a major fire.
  • Ukraine also launched a drone attack at a fuel facility in the Oryol region leading to a fire, the Governor Andrei Klychkov said.
