Uncertainty Over Expected Freeport LNG Restart

LNG

Uncertainty remains over Freeport LNG in the US which is aiming to restart soon. Reports on Friday indicating a delay due to cracked pipes were dismissed as false information, the company spokesperson Heather Browne said by email.

  • “This is NOT a legitimate statement from Freeport LNG”, Heather Browne wrote in an email after tweets circulated the internet on Friday that stated a potential delay to the facility start up because of cracks in pipes at the terminal in Texas.
  • Freeport also dismissed an apparent company-issued letter saying part of the facility would restart soon as “false information”. The company has not issued any recent statement regarding the restart plans.
  • The terminal has been shut since a fire broke out in June.
