Unemployment Rate Rises to 4.1% in October

  • Hungary’s unemployment rate rose to 4.1% (Est: 3.9%) in October from 3.9% in September, according to the Central Statistical Office. That is the highest rate since May last year. The number of unemployed rose to 202.5k from 191.2k in September.
  • On Monday, European Council President Charles Michel will travel to Hungary for a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Orban in preparation of the European Council, a spokesperson for the President of the Council said.
  • There are no other data releases or speaker events scheduled for the remainder of the day, with local news flow also light.
