Union Workers Vote to Restart Strike At Chevron’s LNG Sites

LNG

Union workers at Chevron’s two LNG facilities, Gorgon and Wheatstone, voted to restart industrial action after accusing the company on reneging its commitments according to an emailed statement seen by Bloomberg.

  • The Offshore Alliance had called off strikes on 22 September after the unions and Chevron accepted proposals from the country’s Fair Work Commission.
  • Chevron failed to provide the unions with an agreement that incorporates agreed bargaining outcomes and the recommendations of the FWC, the unions said shortly after strikes ended last month.
  • TTF front month extended today’s rally following the headline as industrial action at the facilities could disrupt 6-7% of global LNG supply ahead of the start of the winter heating period.
  • TTF NOV 23 up 4.4% at 37.81€/MWh
  • TTF Q1 24 up 2.2% at 44.88€/MWh
