Unofficial Election Results Expected Around 10pm On May 14

Election Commission (EC) Deputy Secretary General Suranee Pontawee said that the unofficial results of Thailand's general election could be announced around 10pm on May 14, Thai PBS World reports.

  • The official said that the first set of election results from stations with smaller numbers of voters and advance votes is expected to enter the Election Commission's system at 7pm, two hours after polling stations close.
  • Thai PBS World had earlier reported that large number of voters turned up at polling stations for advance voting on Sunday. The EC came under criticism over its handling of early voting after an alliance of watchdogs said it received numerous complaints.
