- The consumer confidence index was as expected as it increased to 111.7 (cons 111.4) in November from an upward revised 109.6 (initial 108.7), leaving at its highest since Dec 2021.
- Conference Board labor differential: 18.2 in Nov after a downward revised 16.5 (from 18.3). It firms a lift from September’s recent lows of 12.7, for what's now its highest since June after revisions.
- November's improvement was led by a smaller share finding jobs hard to get (15.2% vs 17.6% in Oct), whilst jobs plentiful eased a touch (33.4% vs 34.1% in Oct).
- The differential continues to crudely point to a trend increase in the unemployment rate but at a more measured trajectory.
