OIL PRODUCTS

The latest weekly EIA oil data showed a recovery in both US gasoline and distillates implied demand but both moves were in line with the seasonal trend seen in the previous five years.

  • Gasoline weekly implied demand showed a large increase on the week but the four week average stayed just below normal and 2.3% below the previous five year average.
  • Distillates weekly implied demand also showed a small increase but the four week average implied demand is still below the previous five year range. The demand is now 9.8% below the previous five year average despite increasing from 3.38mb/d to 3.75mb/d in the last couple of weeks.
