US Holding Steady with Expectation of Smaller Build in EIA Stocks

US Natgas unchanged on the day before an expected smaller build in stock data later today.

  • US Natgas NOV 22 up 0.6% at 5.64$/mmbtu
  • The expectation for EIA data is for a smaller build than recent weeks of 61bcf after a week of above normal demand. Last week saw a build of +111bcf and the 5-year average for this time of year is +70bcf.
  • Mixed weather forecasts show cold temperatures in the east but warm in the west throughout the two week forecast period. US demand is today estimated just above normal at 72.9bcf/d.
  • Lower 48 dry gas production is holding relatively steady just above 100bcf/d but below the record level of 103.5bcf/d seen at the start of October. Production was around 96.5bcf/d at this time last year.
  • Deliveries to LNG terminals are steady at 11.5bcf/d with still no supply yet to Cove Point.
