US LNG More Profitable to Asia: BNEF

LNG

US LNG exports are now more profitable to Asia from October through to February, according to BNEF.

  • The US LNG netback to Asia for October stands at $10.88/MMBtu, compared to $10.74/MMBtu for Europe.
  • In November, Asia has a small premium over Europe, at $12.95/MMBtu compared to $12.93/MMBtu.
  • Sending US cargoes to Asia in December earns a netback of $13.88/MMBtu, compared to $13.59/MMBtu. Asia is also the premium market in January and February.
  • Asian prices remain supported by continued concerns over potential supply disruption due to Australian industrial disputes. This has helped Asia become the premium market in November and December.
