US natural gas storage stocks remained at an eight-year High

NATGAS

US natural gas stocks remained at an 8-year high in March as mild weather across the lower-48 states fueled more bearish predictions for EIA stock data.

  • According to a Platts survey, the EIA is expected to show a withdrawal of just 1 Bcf for the week ending March 15.
  • Responses were within a wide range, with almost half of respondents expecting a withdrawal, while some predicted zero net change. 75% saw now further jet change beyond +/- 5 Bcf.
  • If correct, it would mark the EIA’s seventh consecutive bearish US gas storage report.
  • The bearish feel for Henry Hub appears to be priced in, Platts said, with prices expected to be flat and choppy.
