US Sep Bldg Permits Revised Up To -3.7% To 1.225 Mln Unit Rate>

--September Permits Originally Reported -4.5% To 1.215 Mln Unit Rate         
     WASHINGTON (MNI) - The number of U.S. building permits issued in 
September was revised up to a decrease of 3.7% to a 1.225 million unit 
annual rate, the Commerce Department's Bureau of the Census said 
Thursday.          
     Permits issued were originally reported down 4.5% to a 1.215            
million unit rate.                                                           
     The Census Bureau revises the latest building permits data on the 
18th working day of the month, three to seven days after the release of      
the preliminary estimate in the month housing starts and building 
permits report.                                                              
     Permits for single-family homes were revised higher to a gain of 
2.9% at a 823,000 unit rate (previously up 2.4% at a 819,000 unit rate). 
Permits for multi-unit buildings were revised up to a decline of 14.8% 
at a 402,000  unit rate (previously down 16.1% at a 396,000 unit rate.)
