DOLLAR-IDR: USD/IDR has ebbed lower as we await the latest monetary policy
decision from Bank Indonesia. 15 out of 22 economists surveyed by BBG call for a
25bp cut to the benchmark policy rate, which would bring it to 4.25%. The
announcement will be followed by a special investor conference call with BI &
FinMin off'ls, explaining the decision.
- Meanwhile, Indonesia's coronavirus case count has topped Singapore's amid an
intensification in testing.
- USD/IDR changes hands -58 pips at IDR14,025. A sell-off past Jun 11 low of
IDR13,903 would clear the way to Jun 8 low of IDR13,873, a key near-term
support. Bulls look for a rebound above Jun 12 high of IDR14,214, before turning
focus to the 200-DMA at IDR14,358.
