DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY last seen at Y110.68, virtually unchanged on the day, ahead
of the release of Japanese CPI at the bottom of the hour. MNI's consensus
forecast for the core measure is +0.8% Y/Y.
- The rate operated within Wednesday's boundaries on Thursday, closing 15 pips
lower with JPY finishing atop the G10 pile. A broader risk-on tone supported the
pair yesterday, before Sino-Australian trade tensions applied some pressure in
the Asia/London crossover.
- The initial bearish attention is drawn to the cloud Tenkan Sen at Y110.41,
followed by the 55-DMA at Y110.26. Meanwhile, bulls look to the 100-WMA at
Y110.79 and a break above would bring the psychological Y111.00 level into view.
- Today the BoJ will buy 5-25+ Year JGBs.
