USDCAD Bounces After Coming Close To Key Support

CANADA
  • USDCAD ticks off new session lows of 1.3508 to 1.3541 as it continues to underperform AUD after the CPI beat overnight but is more in line with other majors ahead of the BoC decision.
  • It came close to testing a key support at 1.3503 (Oct 4 low) after which lies the 50-day EMA of 1.3454, whilst to the upside, resistance sits at 1.3855 (Oct 21 high).
  • In CADUSD terms for the new BoC forecasts today, ~0.74 currently marks reasonable appreciation from the 0.725 averaged in recent weeks but either way is notably lower than the 0.78 assumed in the July MPR.
