- In touching a session low of 1.3497, USDCAD has opened support at the 50-day EMA of 1.3458 after clearing both yesterday’s pre-BoC low of 1.3508 and key support at 1.3503 (Oct 4 low).
- It has since ticked up to 1.3515 but CAD outperformance is second only to JPY today after limited underperformance to majors yesterday on the surprise BoC downshift to a 50bp hike.
- That’s despite no retracement today in the Can-US 2Y yield differential holding at mid-2019 lows of -53bps after GoC yields tumbled.
