- Not much immediate reaction in FI to the BoC minutes but the 5-10 pip move lower in USDCAD (coming along with a dip in BBDXY admittedly) sees it touch new recent lows of 1.3312.
- The earlier low of 1.3316 had probed support at 1.3320 (Aug 4 low), with a clearer move lower opening 1.3283 (76.4% retrace of Jul 14 – Nov 1 bull phase).
- The minutes saw increased chance that rates are now high enough but members agreed risks to the inflation outlook remained, especially from shelter, with hikes potentially still needed.
