USDCAD Pulls Away From Oversold Territory

CANADA
  • USDCAD has seen a further push higher today to currently top out at 1.3264, pulling away from its foray into oversold territory on a 14-day RSI basis seen since mid-Dec.
  • Today’s further uplift is supported by S&P 500 futures under pressure and WTI keeping to yesterday’s losses.
  • Resistance is seen at 1.3295 (Dec 25 high) but bears are seen in the driving seat from a technical perspective with support at 1.3177 (Dec 27 low).
  • Today sees the MNI Chicago PMI headline an otherwise blank docket for both USD and CAD legs, with the next main CAD event the jobs report on Jan 5.
