USDCLP Reverses Wednesday’s Advance At Open

  • USDCLP has fallen 0.65% at today’s open, reversing a large portion of Wednesday’s climb with firmer copper futures boosting the peso. On the downside, attention remains on 771.89, the Mar 29 2022 low. Initial resistance is seen at 802.16, the 20-day EMA. Key resistance at the 50-day EMA intersects at 829.72.
  • The Ministry of Finance is scheduled to release its Public Financial Report for Q4’22. The previous report detailed a substantial improvement in the expected fiscal balance for last year, in line with double-digit revenue growth and a strong expenditure contraction.
  • Separately, Chile’s gasoline and diesel prices will fall on Feb. 16 due to decreases in international costs and the local price stabilization mechanism, the Finance Ministry said.
