Venezuelan Audits Will Not hit Production: Oil Minister

Venezuela is not willing to halt productive operations during contract audits according to the country’s oil minister Pedro Tellechea. Audits earlier in the year dented exports from the country.

  • "Our goal is to explore, produce, refine and export every product we can," he said.
  • "We are not willing to paralyze a productive process, which would slow down Venezuela's growth. On the contrary, we are here to encourage that growth," he added.
  • Venezuela has been receiving increased support from Iran and Russia to support its oil and refining industry while easing sanctions from Washington have allowed crude flows in exchange for debt reduction towards the US.
