VP Liu-We Oppose Unilateralism & Protectionism, End Cold War Mentality

MNI (London)-China's Vice-Premier Liu He delivering an address to the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos. Liu, the fourth-ranking VP, responsible for industry, transport, bank, human resources, and social security.

Liu states that on international trade "We oppose unilateralism and protectionism". Regarding international relations, says that countries must "End the Cold War mentality".

  • Liu: "In 2023, we will spur consumption, support the growth of the private economy, and state-owned enterprise reform...We welcome foreign investment, in 2023 China's economy will see improvement and hit a normal growth rate...trade and domestic consumption will return to normal in 2023".
  • Liu states that it is "Impossible for China to take a state-led economy path".
  • Liu: "We will support the development of the private economy, and champion entrepreneurship....Foreign investment is welcomed in China, China's door to the world will only open wider." Says that foreign entrepreneurs have a 'key role' to play in enhancing prosperity.
  • Liu: "Financial risks have appeared in China in recent years due to factors such as loose regulation...China has managed to maintain overall financial stability, and is drafting a financial stability law".
