US: Washington could delay or even derail trade talks with the EU, as it looks
to leverage a WTO ruling against Airbus into major concessions over market
access for US farmers and manufacturers, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said late
Wednesday. The White House could also revisit tariff threats against EU
automakers, repeating the notion of national security risks used to threaten
Japan, Mexico, and Canada last year, Chamber officials said, noting the US saw
this as a lever to extract significant concessions from Brussels. The failure of
a "mini deal" with the EU add to global risks, including coronavirus, that has
led financial markets sharply lower the USCC said and could, analysts suggest,
trigger a monetary policy response from the Fed.
