ENERGY: What to Watch: API Inventories & EIA STEO

  • The API US oil inventory data is due at 16:30ET ahead of the EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report tomorrow. A Reuters survey indicated a crude stock build of 2.6mbbl in the week ended Feb. 7. Distillate stocks are seen down 0.9mbbl and gasoline stocks up 1.6mbbl. Refinery runs are expected 0.3 percentage points higher on the week.
  • The EIA Short Term Energy Outlook is scheduled at 10:00ET (17:00GMT) with updates for oil, gas, and power, as the market looks for indications of the future pace of US supply and outlook for demand growth. IEA and OPEC monthly reports are due later this week.
