Where Is The Submarine?

IDR

Spot USD/IDR has stuck to a familiar range thus far and last trades at IDR14,525, just a handful of figs lower on the day. Losses past Apr 20 low of IDR14,483 would clear the way to IDR14,470/14,454, which represent Apr 7 low/23.6% retracement of the Feb 16 - Apr 13 rally. Bulls need a swing above the IDR14,633-14,635, which capped gains on Apr 13-15, to regain control.

  • Rescuers continue to search for a missing Indonesian submarine after finding an oil spill close to the spot off Bali where the vessel dived. Australia, Singapore & India responded to Indonesia's plea for help with the search.
  • With little of note on the local data docket, focus turns to a press briefing with FinMin Indrawati, who will provide an update on 2021 state budget as 13:00 local time.
  • Elsewhere, BI Gov Warjiyo will speak at a webinar hosted by the Indonesian Economist Association at 15:30 local time.
