Wires reporting EU favour a population split for AZ Dutch vaccine output

EU-UK
  • A Bloomberg sources story "EU offering UK just a fraction of Astra's Dutch vaccine output" seems to be a net positive (despite the downbeat headline for the story).
  • Rather than the headlines of earlier this week that the EU would block vaccine exports to the UK, a population split based on the new plant is suggested by the sources.
  • As we noted yesterday, the UK doesn't currently export much of the AZ vaccine at all, it's the Pfizer vaccine that is important for the UK's supply.
  • So despite the gloomy title of the story, it appears as though the EU will be less likely to block vaccine exports than was thought yesterday.
