Yen See-Saws As BOJ Adjust YCC

Yen has been pressured in recent dealing after the BOJ adjusted YCC, the bank maintained its policy balance rate at -0.1% and 10 year Yield Target of 0.00%. The BOJ said it will aim to control yield curve control flexibly and will buy 10-year bonds at 1% every business day.

  • USD/JPY see-sawed on the decision initially falling printing a low at ¥138.63 before firming to a high of ¥141.94. The pair now sits below the ¥140 handle and is ~0.1% higher today.
