Yen Ticks Higher In Early Trade

The Yen is the strongest performer in the G-10 space at the margins in early trade today. Mondays gains have been extended as Asia digesting yesterday's downtick in US Yields which has moderated a touch this morning. Cross asset flows are muted thus far.

  • USD/JPY is down ~0.3% last printing at ¥148.25/30. Support is at ¥147.15 low from Nov 21. Resistance comes in at ¥149.94, the 20-Day EMA.
  • AUD/USD is testing Monday's highs and is consolidating above $0.66. We sit a touch below $0.6616 the high from Aug 10, a break through here opens $0.6656, 61.8% retracement of Jul-Oct bear leg.
  • Kiwi is higher however ranges remain narrow thus far. NZD/USD is see-sawing around the $0.61 handle.
  • Elsewhere in G-10 there hasn't yet been any moves of note.
  • At the bottom of the hour we have October Retail Sales from Australia.
