Zloty Little Changed Ahead Of NBP Governor's Presser

PLN

EUR/PLN trades flat at 4.3422 after the NBP left interest rates unchanged, with Governor Adam Glapinski's press conference on the radar today. The central bank's rhetoric shifted in the hawkish direction at the margin, albeit the zloty has shown a relatively limited reaction. Technically, a dip through Feb 1 low of 4.3069 would open up Dec 13 low of 4.2935, while bulls keep an eye on Jan 17 high of 4.4124. USD/PLN remains comfortably above the 4.00 figure, despite a downtick over the past couple of days.

  • POLGB yields sit a touch higher across the curve, while the WIG20 Index has shed 0.7% today.
  • Reminder that Governor Glapinski will speak at 14:00GMT/15:00CET.
