103 Container Ships Diverted Around Africa: Keuhne+Nagel

Keuhne+Nagel say 103 container ships have diverted around the Cape of Good Hope due to recent Red Sea attacks by Houthi rebels.

  • The logistics giant added that the number of rerouted vessels is expected to increase.
  • The cost of insuring vessels transiting the Red Sea has increased again this week to about 0.5% of the value of the ship’s hull and more than tenfold from before the attacks according to Bloomberg. On Monday insurers expanded the Red Sea regions that are designated as risky.
