2023 Budget To Be Raised by COP14.3T to COP405.7T

  • The president of the Senate’s Economic Congressional committee said Colombia will raise its 2023 budget proposal to 405.7t pesos from 391.4t pesos. (BBG)
  • Senator Gustavo Bolivar said in a tweet the agriculture budget will go to 4.06t pesos from 2.06t pesos, adding the “agrarian revolution will be a reality”.
    • For reference, lawmakers are scheduled to vote the new budget amount’s proposal on Tuesday.
  • Separately, it was announced on Monday that Colombia will unlink electricity fees from the producer price index in a bid to lower prices for households, Energy Minister Irene Velez told lawmakers.
