7-Year EUR Issue Attracts More Than EUR 4.4bn Bids

  • Bloomberg report that the government sold EUR 1.6bn of notes due in 2031 today, at a spread of 105bp over mid-swaps, according to a person familiar with the matter. This compares with IPT around 130bp. The benchmark social bond sale attracted bids of more than 4.4 billion euros, the person said.
  • Bloomberg noted that an analyst at BBVA SA in New York said “The size of the issuance was a bit of a surprise, but the transaction is in line with Chile’s goals to diversify its bond offerings.”
