GILT SUMMARY: According to an article by Sky News, UK MPs have demanded that the
government reveals its plans for trade tariffs in a no-deal scenario. The Chair
of the Treasury Select Committee Nicky Morgan has written to Chancellor Phillip
Hammond to confirm rumours that the government will slash 80-90% of all tariffs
imposed on imported goods.
- Having initially opened on a strong footing, the gilt rally has intensified
since late-morning. Yields are now ~4-5bps lower on the day with the 2s10s and
2s30s spreads now trading near yesterday's closing levels. 
- Current yield levels: 2-year 0.755%, 5-year 0.951%, 10-year 1.239%, 30-year
1.729%.
- The Jun-19 gilt future trades at 126.53 near the top of the day's range.
- The short sterling futures strip has flattened with whites up 0.5-2.5 ticks
and greens/blues up 3.0-4.0 ticks.
- Next up on the data calendar will be the Halifax House Price series for
February, which will be published tomorrow.
