Activity Data, BanRep Economist Survey Due Later This Week

  • March consumer confidence data is due Wednesday but the focus will be on industrial production & retail sales data, scheduled this Friday. Additionally, the central bank will also be releasing the results of the latest survey of economists.
  • On Tuesday, Minister of Finance José Antonio Ocampo meets today with ministers and governors in Washington that are part of the G-24 to discuss progress, investment and current risks. He also holds a meeting with members of the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund, on the role of the IMF in promoting carbon markets, green and sustainable taxonomy, and international fiscal cooperation.
  • Additionally today, the Colombian government, lawmakers start discussions of the bill on the national development plan.
  • Director of Public Credit José Roberto Acosta reported via twitter that foreign investors were net sellers of 34 billion pesos ($7.5 million) of Colombian peso bonds, or TES, in March after the massive net outflow of 4.2 trillion pesos in February.
