Alberta Wildfire Risk Lessens with Slave Lake Blaze Held

Out-of-control wildfires larger than 10 hectares in size are within 10km of 363k b/d of oil production and 10k boe/d of gas output, Bloomberg said.

  • This compares to 376k b/d of oil production and 12.5 boe/d of gas output that was at risk yesterday.
  • The wildfire threat has diminished after a fire near Slave Lake threatening drilling in the Clearwater formation went from out of control to being held.
  • There is a total of 117 wildfires burning, down from 125 yesterday. 23 are out of control, versus 26 last week.
