ANO Remains Most Popular Party, Cabinet To Discuss Fiscal Consolidation Package

CZECHIA
  • The latest Median survey showed that the main opposition ANO party keeps the top spot, with 33% of support, despite losing 2.5pp since June. The ODS and Pirates were second and third respectively, with 15% and 12%. If an election was held today, the ruling coalition would claim 92 seats in the 200-strong lower house, while ANO would get 77 seats. However, the distribution could change if TOP09 (6.5%) and/or SOCDEM (5%) failed to make it past the 5% electoral threshold.
  • The Cabinet meets at 09:00BST/10:00CEST to discuss possible changes to its fiscal consolidation package following yesterday's meeting with representatives of trade unions and employers.
