US TSYS: Another tight 0-06+ range for T-Notes in Asia, with a light early bid
noted and little reaction to broader news flow/market moves during Asia hours.
Contract last +0-04 at 138-21+. Yields sit 0.2-1.1bp richer across the curve,
with longer dated paper unwinding its early, light underperformance, to sit
level with the belly in terms of intraday movement. Surprisingly strong Chinese
export data countered a softer than expected Caixin Services PMI print, allowing
the contract to move away from best levels of the day.
- Continued focus/chatter focused on yesterday's Treasury refunding
announcement, which triggered curve steepening in NY hours, adding to the recent
momentum, interesting that the initial round of cash trade in Asia (the first
such round of trading since Friday after Japan returned from holiday) saw light
bull flattening.
- Eurodollar futures unchanged to +0.5 though the reds.
- Labour market data to garner the local attention today, with weekly jobless
claimant data and challenger job cuts due up. Elsewhere, Fed's Bostic, Kashkari
and Harker are slated to speak.
