US DATA: April 27 Initial Claims Preview - 08:30 EDT/13:30 BST
---------------------------------------------------------------
- Initial claims are expected to fall back to 215k based on the Bloomberg
consensus and to 209k based on an MNI survey of analysts. This follows a surge
to 230k in the previous week.
- Seasonal adjustment difficulties and strikes in some states drove the gain in
the previous week, factors which should reverse in the current week's data.
- Even with the expected decline, the four-week average would rise as the very
low levels in early to mid-April begin to roll out of the equation.
