April Same-Store Sales Data Expected Today
MEXICO
- The Mexican peso is little changed against the dollar in early trade, as markets await key US CPI data on Wednesday. USDMXN is currently trading around 16.74, the lowest level for the pair since mid-April, following last week’s on-hold Banxico interest rate decision. Having pierced resistance at 16.8784, the 50-day EMA, a clear break would expose key support and the bear trigger at 16.2616, the Apr 9 low.
- On the data front today, same-store sales data for April are expected later. Sales rose by 7.9% y/y in March. Nominal wages for April may also cross later.
- April ANTAD Same-Store Sales YoY, prior 7.9%
- Meanwhile, ruling party presidential candidate Claudia Sheinbaum is due to hold a rally in the Mexico City borough of Iztapalapa at 1300BST(0800ET).
