AUSSIE: AUD/USD has advanced 6 pips thus far and last deals at $0.7176, after it
added 30 pips yesterday, drawing support from weak USD & positive signals re:
Sino-U.S. trade talks, which wrapped up on Wednesday. However, soft Aussie
building approvals print might have capped the pair's gains.
- Bulls look for a clean break above the nearby 100-DMA/55-DMA at $0.7178/80,
which would give them the green light for challenging the 50-DMA at $0.7188,
followed by yesterday's high of $0.7194 and the psychological $0.7200 level. On
the downside, initial focus falls on yesterday's low of $0.7135 and a break
below would draw bearish attention to the Jan 8 low at $0.7117.
- Domestic retail sales data headlines the Australian docket for the remainder
of the week.
