AUSSIE: AUD/USD opened lower as market sentiment remains vulnerable, amid
concerns over the resurgence of the novel coronavirus and after the publication
of the draft language of the new Hong Kong security legislation. In Australia,
an increase in Victoria's coronavirus case count prompted regional authorities
to extend state of emergency within Victoria State to July 20.
- The rate sits -22 pips at $0.6813 at typing. Jun 15 low of $0.6777 provides
the initial bearish target and a break here would expose May 27 high of $0.6680.
Conversely, a push through Jun 16 high of $0.6977 would open up round figure
resistance/Jun 11 high at $0.7000/05.
- As a reminder, RBA Governor Lowe will participate in a panel discussion on
"Global Economy and COVID-19" at the top of the hour.
- Data-wise, focus in Oz moves to flash CBA PMIs & flash trade balance (Tues),
skilled vacancies (Weds) and job vacancies (Thurs).
