AUSSIE
AUSSIE: AUDUSD last trades unchanged at 0.7490, back from session lows of
0.7476, which represents a fresh YtD low, after macro type sellers pressured the
cross, filling local exporter bids. AUDNZD was choppy over the NZ labour market
release, and last trades 10 pips or so softer at 1.0685.
- AUDUSD looks heavy, with bears now focused on the May 2017 monthly low
($0.7326), although oversold studies remain the key concern for bears. Bulls now
need a close above yesterday's low (0.7522) to gain breathing room and above
hourly resistance from April 25 (0.7590) to target a move higher.
- AUDNZD's topside hesitation is less than ideal for bulls, alongside daily
studies correcting from overbought levels. Bears continue to look for a close
below the 55-DMA (1.0662) to gain breathing room. While the 55-DMA supports
bulls hold the advantage with focus currently on 1.0781-1.0894 where key DMAs,
WMAs and the bear channel top are situated.
