AUSSIE SUMMARY: *Aug10 Aussie-dollar open $0.7888, range $0.7871-$0.7911
*Aussie opened in Asia toward the middle of yesterday's $0.7855 to $0.7915
range, where consolidation was the theme following the risk-off move lower seen
in Asia
*The early move saw the Aussie rise from around $0.7885 to $0.7911, with demand
cited in the crosses for the move, predominately against kiwi and yen.
*After hitting an intraday high at $0.7911 the Aussie beat a hasty retreat and
fell quickly to $0.7886. The move was largely seen in sympathy with the softer
kiwi following intervention rhetoric from RBNZ's Wheeler.
*The down move extended to $0.7871 on Aussie-yen supply, with risk-sentiment
turning sour as Asian equities went deeper into the red.
*Aussie consolidated toward the low heading into the European open
*Fed's Dudley speech at 1400GMT is seen as the next risk hurdle.
