AUSSIE SUMMARY
AUSSIE SUMMARY: *Aug11 Aussie-dollar open $0.7875, range $0.7839 to $0.7876
*Aussie opened in Asia at the lower side of the $0.7867 to $0.7911 range
witnessed yesterday, where risk-aversion amid US/N Korea tensions and lower
commodities (CRB -1.46%) placed the Aussie on the defensive
*Risk-aversion theme continued from the get-go, Aussie was sold from $0.7876 to
$0.7860 ahead of RBA's Lowe semi-annual testimony to the House Economics
Committee.
* Lowe's testimony was largely a summary of last Friday's Statement of Monetary
Policy and offered little new information
*Recoveries we held to $0.7875. As regional equities came under severe selling
pressure, supply in Aussie yen dragged the Aussie from around $0.7870 to
$0.7839. An option barrier at $0.7850 was also said to have been triggered which
assisted in the move lower
*Recoveries were then held to $0.7856 and approaching the European open the
Aussie remained on the defensive at $0.7845.
