August Inflation Data Expected, Central Bank Survey

  • INDEC are scheduled to publish the National CPI for August at 2000BST/1500ET. According to price-tracker Eco Go consulting, monthly CPI increased 11.5% in August and if correct, the year-over-year reading will accelerate to 122.4% from 113.4% in July. Alongside the data, rising inflation expectations after the 18% currency devaluation on August 14 are likely to add to the economic concerns ahead of the October election.
  • Elsewhere, the central bank may release its latest survey of expectations and second quarter GDP data is expected to be released on September 19.
