dovish FOMC statement and firmer commodities (CRB index +1.0%) underpinned the
antipodean
*Rate initially dipped to $0.7993 on light profit take sales, before broad-based
dollar weakness took hold. Stops were reportedly triggered on the break of
$0.8020 with gains extending to $0.8043
*Minor reversal to $0.8031 encountered fresh demand via the crosses, talk of
local exporter hedging requirements then pushed the aussie through $0.8050 to
$0.8066
*The pullback off overnight highs continued into Europe. Aussie extended its
slow grind throughout the morning session to $0.8015. The Asia low provides
initial support at $0.7992, a break opens $0.7972 (50% $0.7878-0.8066). US
Jobless Claims/Durable Goods to provide direction, last $0.8016.
