ASIAN MARKETS, AUSSIE-YEN
AUSSIE-YEN: AUD/JPY has advanced 18 pips and last deals at Y78.72, supported by
yen weakness triggered by positive performance of Japanese equities, with the
Nikkei 225 trading ~1% higher at writing, also worth highlighting disappointing
Japanese CPI print (core reading came at +0.7% from the Nov reading of +0.9%).
- Initial resistance is located at Y78.98, where the rate peaked Thursday, and a
break above would open up Y79.27, which represents the Dec 21 high. On the
downside, initial attention is drawn by yesterday's low/21-DMA at Y77.76/73 and
a fall below would bring the Y77.00 figure into view.
