ASIAN MARKETS, AUSSIE-YEN
AUSSIE-YEN: AUD/JPY has dropped 19 pips and last sits at Y75.75, as Sino-U.S.
trade tensions continue to cast a shadow over risk sentiment. This comes after
the rate slipped a dozen pips yesterday, with a mid-day recovery attempt proving
unsuccessful.
- Worth noting flash Japanese Nikkei manufacturing PMI moved into contractionary
territory, while Australian CBA PMI gauges accelerated.
- With the pair nearing the 50% fibo retracement of the year's range at Y75.68,
a breach of the level would open up the May 17 low of Y75.31, the worst level
post-Jan 3 flash crash. Meanwhile, bulls need to retake Y76.00 before attempting
a move at the the Y76.36-39 region, which capped gains on May 14 & May 20.
